Our Expansion Into South East Asia Continues into Thailand
With over 55 hotels in our portfolio, we are continuing our expansion into South East Asia, with the launch of two Cassia, a member of Banyan Tree Group hotels in Bangkok, Thailand.
The two developments, Cassia, a member of Banyan Tree group Rama 9 and Cassia, a member of Banyan Tree group Ram Intra, will be delivered through a partnership of Siamese and ourselves. This is following our 2020 announcement regarding the signing of five Bangkok hotels, totalling seven hotels to be delivered by Siamese in conjunction with our company. There will be four under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand umbrella, expected to open from 2021, and the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Rama 9, due to open in 2023.
Launching in the third quarter of 2022 with 300 rooms, Cassia by Banyan Tree Rama 9 will sit within a mixed-use development, Siamese Rama 9, which also features high-end apartments, office space and a mall. Conveniently located on the bustling Rama 9 and close to the Thai capital's new central business district, the property offers excellent access to world-class shopping at Central Plaza Grand and connectivity to the rest of Bangkok via a nearby MRT station. Launching in 2024, Cassia by Banyan Tree Ram Intra, located in northeast Bangkok, will feature 220 rooms and act as a home away from home for leisure and business guests, with connectivity to the Thai capital's central business district and leisure attractions.

In 2020 it was announced that Siamese and Kew Green Management Company Thailand will launch a further five properties in the heart of Bangkok from 2021 onwards: The Wyndham Queen Convention Centre, Wyndham Garden Sukhumvit 42, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Sukhumvit 48, Ramada by Wyndham Sukhumvit 87 and Crowne Plaza Bangkok Rama 9.
Conveniently located just 50 from Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT station, yet close to the greenery of Benjakitti and Lumpini parks plus the oasis of Bang Kachao, the Wyndham Queen Convention Centre Hotel & Residences houses 150 rooms and suites, rooftop gardens, a sky lounge, infinity pool, restaurant, executive lounge and an expansive fitness room. Offering spectacular panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River, the bustling Port of Bangkok and outstanding surroundings, the hotel and residences act as a home away from home for leisure and business guests due to being positioned five minutes from contemporary shopping centres within the vibrant Central Business District of Bangkok.
Wyndham Garden Sukhumvit 42 sits in the heart of Ekkamai, renowned for its lively collection of popular cafés, bars and restaurants and just 300m from Ekkamai BTS station and five minutes from the Ramindra-Art-Narong Expressway. The hotel offers 120 rooms with exceptional city views, a roof-top garden, a restaurant, a Kafeology coffee bar on the terrace, a swimming pool, spa and a gym.
Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Sukhumvit 48 offers 100 rooms together with a sky bar, restaurant, bar lounge and spa with far-reaching views across the city, plus a swimming pool and gardens. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from Phra Khanong BTS Sky Train with convenient connectivity to world-class shopping, dining and nightlife.
Ramada by Wyndham Sukhumvit 87 is situated between BTS Bang Chak and BTS Onnut at 430m and 550m respectively, with convenient access to shopping malls and entertainment in the renowned Ekkamai area. With 85 rooms, the hotel offers a dedicated yoga room and roof-top gardens, a swimming pool, garden and Kafeology coffee bar.

The development marks the first time our long-term partner IHG has completed a franchise agreement in Thailand, as our relationship expands as part of the joint venture with experienced Thai real estate developer, Siamese Asset.
